Job Description

teach195 are seeking an experienced Careers Teacher to work at a highly rated school in Bury on an on-going basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Career Guidance: Provide comprehensive guidance to students on career options, vocational pathways, and further education opportunities, helping them make informed decisions about their future.

• Curriculum Development: Develop and deliver engaging lessons, workshops, and activities focused on career exploration, employability skills, CV writing, interview techniques, and personal development, tailored to meet the needs of diverse student groups.

• Individual Support: Offer personalised one-on-one support and advice to students, including career counselling, aptitude assessments, and goal setting, to help them identify their strengths, interests, and aspirations.

• Partnership Building: Forge strong partnerships with employers, industry professionals, higher education institutions, and community organisations to arrange work placements, apprenticeships, guest speaker events, and career fairs, providing students with real-world exposure and networking opportunities.

• Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor students' progress, evaluate the effectiveness of career guidance interventions, and track destination data (e.g., post-school destinations) to assess outcomes and inform continuous improvement strategies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality careers education that meets statutory requirements and aligns with best practices.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Careers Teacher
• Proven record of helping students with placements and future jobs
• Experience working within a Secondary School
• A willingness to go above and beyond to help students
