This role would suit someone who has worked in a support worker role where you are helping people to achieve a goal. So, you might have worked within residential support with young people?  Or maybe support housing, drug and alcohol support, ex-offender support or in a hostel capacity.  The skills set you have gained from helping people to achieve goals to help themselves is transferable to this role – which has a focus on supported vulnerable clients with their careers.

The charity we are recruiting for are delivering a new NHS contract to support people with health conditions to get back into employment. You will work with a caseload of job seekers who you will meet on a regular basis.  Initially you will work with them to identify their challenges and goals.  And then put a plan in place which you will work on moving forwards as you meet on a regular basis. In a typical session you might support someone to write a CV, prepare for a job interview, write a cover letter, and discuss reasonable adaptions with employers.

We are recruiting for vacancies on behalf of this charity in East Surrey, and vacancies in West Surrey.  In both cases, you will be based in the Woking office once a week.  And the rest of the time you will be hot desking at other organisations to meet your clients such as job centres, health centres, community centres and libraries.

So, you will need to be a driver.  The locations are:

West Surrey vacancies:  Woking (one day in office), then hot desking across all the following: Fleet, Farnborough, Aldershot, Farnham, Guildford, Chertsey.

East Surrey vacancies: Working (one day in office), then hot desking across all the following: Leatherhead, Dorking, Reigate, Redhill & Epsom.

You might have previously worked as a Residential Support Worker, Hostel Worker, Drug and Alcohol Worker, Key Worker, Teacher, Trainer, Tutor, or Teaching Assistant.

Please apply via this advert – everyone gets a response.  If you do get a response to say we don’t feel your CV is the right fit, the email you receive will detail how you can get extra feedback or talk to someone about this.  You can also call the office and talk to Lawrence if you would like to speak to someone about the post.
