Care Supervisor

Location: Largs, KA30 8EX
Salary: £15.22 ph + Benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 36 hours per week

Care Supervisor - The Role:

As a Care Supervisor and part of the leadership team you will be responsible for the safe delivery of care and support to all Residents, in line with the Health and Social Care Standards. In the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager, to take responsibility for the day to day running of the care home.

Care Supervisor - Responsibilities:

• Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by all Care staff in supporting/assisting Residents, with all aspects of daily living.
• Preparation of the rota to reflect the agreed staffing ratio for the home.
• On call commitment on a rotational basis.
• Provide cover or remain on duty until appropriate cover is in place.
• Take responsibility for the effective running of the home in the absence of the Manager / Assistant Manager.
• Oversee the admission of new residents, including creating and reviewing care plans, and arranging and taking part in care review meetings.
• Oversee the induction of new staff as and when required.
• Participate in Staff supervisions and appraisals.
• Dispense medication using correct policies and procedures.
• Ensure residents are stimulated and engaged in a daily plan of activities.

Care Supervisor - Candidate specification:

• Previous management / supervisory experience
• Genuine interest in and experience of working with the relevant Resident group
• Ability to communicate effectively with Residents, relatives and all grades of staff
• A minimum of N/SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or working towards this qualification
• Strong leadership qualities
• Satisfactory PVG
• Registered with SSSC or other professional bodies
