Leamington Spa - c£22,000 per annum

We are working with a very well-established, multi-office, Lexcel accredited law firm who are seeking an experienced, ambitious Childcare Paralegal, to join their busy Care Department (Public Family Law) in Leamington Spa. 

This role has come about due to internal promotions and the expansion of their Care Department; testament to their ongoing commitment to training and development of all staff.

The role will involve:

  • Assisting fee earners with the preparation of care work
  • Liaising with clients in person, via telephone and email
  • Maintaining files and ensuring efficient case management of care matters
  • Drafting legal documents including correspondence, briefs, court documentation, full attendance notes and statements of evidence
  • Attending to clients at court with counsel
  • Making appointments for clients

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Experience and knowledge of working in a care department 
  • Experience of dealing with Legal Aid applications and use of the Legal Aid online portal
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience of using legal case management systems 
  • The ability to deal with sensitive situations and difficult clients in an understanding and professional manner
  • Experience of public funding procedures 
  • Driving licence and own transport

This is a full time permanent job which is office-based, working 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)
