Our well established client has a exciting opportunity for a full time Care Paralegal to join our specialised Care Team in their Leighton Buzzard Office. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Child Care Department.

The Care Team deal with all aspects of care proceedings, working constructively with Local Authorisation, Guardians and bodies.


Key responsibilities
• Case Management - File set up, full conflict checks, liaison with counsel and experts,
getting costs quotes, time frames, arrange claiming and paying disbursements;
• Setting up, monitoring, claiming and paying for DNA and drug and alcohol testing;
• Completing outline C2 applications to court on all issues for fee earner and serving,
requisitioning cheques and paying court fees;
• Bundle preparation; assisting Solicitors with trial preparation;
• Completing LAA applications, extensions of scope and limits, prior authority and billing
as above for checking by fee earner;
• Drafting letters, preparation of file notes, telephone notes and other correspondence;
• Drafting court documents;
• Attendance at client meetings and note taking;
• Attending court with counsel and note taking;
• Diary management, including setting up client appointments;
• Administrative support to the team;
• Performance of other office duties as required.


Key experience


• Strong Excel, Work and Outlook skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to keep claim under pressure and work to tight deadlines
• Full driving licence
