Care Assistant - Tiled House

At Connect2Dudley we currently have fantastic opportunities for experienced Care Assistants to join the team at Tiled House, Brierley Hill. This is an ongoing shift assignment where as a Connect2Dudley candidate you would be notified first about available shifts and therefore be able to pick which shifts you would like to do. Our client currently offers the following shifts -

Early shift = 07:30 - 14:30

Afternoon shift = 14:00 - 21:30

Night shift = 21:30 - 07:30

Duties of the role include

• To participate in the planning of care programmes and the preparation of case notes for Multi Disciplinary meetings.
• The general support of people who use the service in order to help them maintain or achieve independence and self-determination. Whilst this may entail acceptable risk-taking, due regard must be given to their safety.
• To report any incident of ill treatment to a person, to the Manager and, if not satisfied with appropriateness of the action taken, to the Chief Officer of Adult Social Care.
• To undertake such other duties as may reasonably fall within the scope of the post and in particular assist, if necessary for the safety of the client, in other duties as may be required in particular circumstances.
• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may from time to time be required by the Line Manager.

• Have previously worked with vulnerable adults in a care setting
• Be able to demonstrate practical skills in personal care
• Be able to demonstrate the ability to assess situations and react clearly and realistically
• Be able to relate well to staff and users at all levels
• Be receptive to new ideas with flexible attitudes
• Have a knowledge of Equality & Diversity
• Show commitment to anti-oppressive social care practice

Please note the post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, if you do not currently hold a DBS registered on the update service there would be a fee to obtain a new one. If you have lived/worked overseas you would also need to obtain an overseas police check from the country you resided in to go alongside the UK DBS. We can provide details of this at the shortlisting stage.
