Cambridge - SMPS Engineer- £30-35k

My Client specializes in the design and manufacture of electronic test and measurement instruments. They provide a range of products used in electronics laboratories and manufacturing environments.This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on PSU Design Engineer to contribute and broaden experience:

Main Duties:

+ Develop products to agreed requirements, specification, cost and time scales.

+ Maintain product and company reputation by complying with required statutory regulations.

+ Specify manufacturing assembly processes, test methods, equipment and materials.

+ Evaluate applications, products and components by designing and conducting research programs.

+ Prepare product reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.

+ Provide engineering information and customer support by answering questions and requests.

Skills and Experience Required:

+ Msc in PSU or Electronics Design or related degree

+ Experience of SMPS design

+ Experience with low noise PCB layout and debug of PSU layouts

+ Proficient in designing and specifying magnetic components

Desired but not essential experience:

+ Knowledge of analogue or DSP control loops

+ Knowledge of active or bridgeless PFC design.

+ Knowledge of international safety standards in particular

+ An understanding of digital signal processing techniques

+ Experience in test automation is a plus

The salary for this position is up to £35,000 depending on experience.
