Buying Assistant - Footwear

Contract - 9 to 12 months

Leeds (LS11)

Salary: £25k pa

Our client a fashion retailer is looking for a Buying Assistant to join the business, this is a role which would suit a recent Fashion Graduate or a Buying Assistant looking for a fresh challenge

This role provides support to the Footwear and Accessories Buyer. You will be responsible for supporting the critical path of the buying cycle through a variety of tasks.

The role is largely admin based; however, you will play an active role in the buying process.

Job Description for the Buying Assistant :

  • Provide administration support to the Footwear & Accessories Buyer
  • Collation of reports and sales information
  • Critical path management
  • Working cross functionally with internal departments to ensure smooth running of the day to day buying function
  • Management of samples and the image bank
  • Competitor analysis
  • Awareness of upcoming trends
  • Working closely with the supplier base
  • Support buyer in prep for any product meeting - samples and report production
  • Liaise with internal photography studio on all samples dates for e-com photography and ensure all deadline are met and all samples shot.

Skills & Abilities :

  • Ideally you will be either a recent graduate with a degree in fashion buying or an existing Buyer’s assistant looking for a fresh challenge
  • Have impeccable time management and communication skills
  • Competent in Word, Excel and Outlook programmes
  • Organised and proactive way of working with a great attention to detail
  • Passionate about product and product development
