A fantastic opportunity for a Buyer- Hybrid to join a thriving homewares brand. The company is fast paced and energetic and would suit someone who is looking to make an impact on a growing business, contributing to a talented team.

You will have a specific brand, category and product within the Buying and Product team.

You will be leading the Buying Assistant and co-ordinating with other departments to successfully launch product on time using the critical path. The best price, quality and service to be achieved and signed off with the Product Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Working on specific brand, category and product ranges in line with company strategy.
  • Conduct research to source best suppliers and products based on pricing and quality objectives. Visiting the suppliers both internationally and domestically regularly.
  • To maintain good working relationships with existing suppliers through regular communication and updates, whether its online or face to face at factories.
  • Analysing sales, customer feedback and market trends to anticipate product needs.
  • Competitor shopping to be completed for strategy, kick off meetings and product range sign off. Range builds and proposed buys, costing and trend forecasting to be signed off with both the product manager and CEO.
  • Management of critical paths, ensuring successful product launches.

  • To monitor and report on stock movement, product sales performance and to support in range reviews and decision making. Manage Bi-annual SKU and price review meetings.
  • Costing and margins to be pulled together and sign off agreed with both Product manager and CEO.
  • Oversee product set up on PIM, Sage and ensuring details are accurate and up to date.
  • Liaising with different business functions, ensuring accuracies across coding, costs, currencies, and terms.
  • Manage inspection of incoming samples to ensure they meet the requirements. Tracking sample usage, maintaining a sample log, showroom, customers, and ERL records.
  • Working closely with the team to ensure that all PO’s are sent out correct and the deliveries meet the assigned purchase orders.
  • Support in training and development of Buying Assistant. Delegating responsibility to them with the appropriate supervision and regular review meetings.
  • Ad hoc tasks/projects as required by the Product Manager.
  • Supporting the Senior team onNew Product Development research, market trends, analysis, competitors etc.
  • Costing model /Costing sheet.
  • Brand specific products development.
  • Tradeshow attendance and travel, sourcing, and factory visits.
  • Ownership of PMI /Sage 200 product data, including product technical specification sheets.
  • Factory negotiation.
  • Identification of new suppliers.
  • Critical path management


Experience

  • Experience in homewares or related categories,
  • Previous Buying or Procurement Experience: Prior experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in a retail or homewares environment, is beneficial.
  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity with homeware products, materials, and manufacturing processes is crucial for making informed decisions.
