Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking a motivated and dynamic Purchasing and Sales Engineer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone eager to develop their skills in international trade and Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) purchasing. The successful candidate will be the primary point of contact for both suppliers and customers, playing a crucial role in the success of our operations.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Research and liaise with potential vendors to source MRO spare parts.
• Obtain and compare pricing from suppliers, negotiating on price and terms of business.
• Prepare and present quotations to customers.
• Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery to meet customer expectations.
• Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team to guarantee the quality and on-time delivery of goods.
• Engage in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
• Perform general customer service-related duties and maintain excellent communication channels.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Demonstrable confidence and a strong work ethic.
• Experience in a related role, ideally within a purchasing environment.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills for effective supplier and customer relations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Technical knowledge is advantageous but not essential.
• Foreign language skills are beneficial but not a requirement.
• Own transport is essential for travel to and from the workplace.
