Buyer
Engineering services business require a Buyer. Applicants need purchasing experience within a mechanical manufacturing, or metallic stockist / distribution environment. Entrepreneurial spirit and commercial acumen are advantageous.
The Buyer will join a multi-functional commercial team comprising both procurement and sales professional. The Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials and services on behalf of customers, while maximising commercial opportunities for the business.
Specific duties of the Buyer include:
- Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for goods and services
- Negotiation
- Suppler selection / de-selection, and supplier management activities
- Collaborate with engineering in regards to supplier quality issues
- Liaison with suppliers and customers in regards to deliveries
- Contribute to overall business procurement strategies and cost saving targets
Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Procurement experience within a mechanical manufacturing or metallic raw material environment
- Experience within a stockist, distribution or procurement trading environment would be of interest
- Ability to negotiate and build relationships with suppliers
- Commercial acumen
- IT literate and familiarity with MS Office packages
