A worldwide, leading manufacturing organisation are looking for a Buyer to join their team in Lewes, East Sussex on a permanent basis and are looking to offer up to £35,000.

The organisation is going through an exciting time of growth and technological change.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Buyer with direct experience in the electronics industry to develop and evolve their purchasing department to a higher level of efficiency to meet the growing demand on the business.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement specifically within an electronics environment, at buyer, or junior buyer level and be keen to progress in their career.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:

  • Place purchase and expedite orders to fulfil MRP and project demand
  • Ensure invoice queries are resolved to allow for payment to be release in line with agreed terms
  • Effectively communicate with other departments including Production, R&D, Sales, Stores and Accounts
  • Visit suppliers and conduct audits
  • Establish, maintain, and develop relationships with suppliers
  • Identify and source alternative components when necessary

Person Specification of the Buyer:

  • Previous experience in buying, purchasing or procurement within an electronic manufacturing/engineering company
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics
  • Excellent standards of verbal and written communication


Salary

Up to £35k

This role will be well suited to you if you have held a role within purchasing or procurement as a buyer, sourcing specialist, commodity manager, category manager, senior buyer, materials planner, materials controller, or junior buyer.
