Role: Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Leicester / Hinkley

Type: Permanent position

Salary: Circa £30-£35K

A buyer is required to join a growing procurement function as a result of exceptional sales growth. This offers the successful applicant the chance to join a market leading business who offer long term career development and progression.

Key responsibilities:

  • The buyer is responsible for sourcing commodities from external suppliers to ensure a coordinated supply chain.
  • Ensure stock management and supply supports customer's demand.
  • Develop the supply base, identify new sources of supply and build strong relationships.
  • Identifying savings opportunities through tenders, negotiations, and efficiencies

  • Deliver accurate metrics, reporting and data.
  • Assist with projects as required.

About you:

To apply for this role, you must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

  • This is a full time site based role.
  • Educated to degree level and/or a CIPS holder.
  • A technical manufacturing background, Aerospace, Automotive or Defence is preferred.
  • Demonstrable procurement and purchasing career success.
  • Knowledge of purchasing gained in a manufacturing or engineering business.
  • Excellent communicator and negotiator with a strong ability to influence.
  • Passionate about developing and progressing your career in purchasing.
