Buyer - Temporary
Our client is a long-established British company supplying specialist products for various industries worldwide.
They are currently seeking an experienced buyer to assist in their busy purchasing team, initially on a temporary basis but with the possibility of becoming permanent.
The job holder will work as part of the procurement team in sourcing equipment, goods and services and developing relationships with new and existing suppliers. As a member of the Procurement team you will perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, identifying and negotiating contracts to achieve better quality more profitable suppliers. You will work collaboratively with other BU’s, engineering, quality and production departments to deliver the best total cost / quality solution.
Requirements
- Experience in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- A proven track record in achievement of cost reduction in purchased parts and or services.
- Proven ability to work well with others at all organizational levels, to organize and prioritize, and to participate on cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
- Experience in procurement and Supply Chain processes.
- Experience in supplier relationship management, performance monitoring and contractual obligations
