As an Electrical Buyer at GMA, you will manage the Purchasing life cycle of pre-series and series production parts for the Electrical Commodity Group across multiple projects.

Responsibilities will include; the procurement of HV & LV Wiring Harnesses, Modules, Connectors, Vehicle Control & Management Systems, and various other electronic components. This role requires exceptional communication and organisational skills with the ability to influence and negotiate high-value developments and commodities.

The successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurised environment using data and facts to help identify risks, opportunities and solve problems quickly and effectively. You must be a strong team player with the ability to interact at all levels across the business with good influential skills.

Responsibilities

  • Development of procurement strategy, establishment of purchasing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures within the organisation.
  • Building and developing supply chain organisation to support vehicle projects and ongoing cost reduction activities.
  • Negotiate key contracts to optimize value, using knowledge of electrical and electronic systems costing.
  • Develop business intelligence based on continuous market analysis, monitoring, and forecasting against variable market conditions.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and interpret existing contract frameworks, demonstrating an understanding of legal principles.
  • Build internal relationships, assessing the capabilities of suppliers.
  • Adherence to programme timing, delivery status, budgets.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, or related subject (or equivalent)
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems and components from a strategic purchasing perspective
  • Experience in using MRP & ERP systems.
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Knowledge of relevant automotive industry standards such as: ISO 9001, TS16949,
  • Proficient in the application of vehicle project management strategies
  • Experience in PPAP processes in the supplier base
  • Proven track record of working within automotive organizations.
