We have a fantastic opportunity for a Business Support Youth Justice Service at Tameside Council. This is a full-time temporary role for the next 11 months, with the possibility of extension.

What is the role?

Tameside Council are looking for a Business Support Youth Justice Service, to work within the

Youth Justice Service and be responsible for providing an effective, professional and confidential

support service to the team. To also provide a customer focused/liaison service on behalf of the Youth

Justice Service with other internal/external services, young people, members of the public, other

agencies and professionals

What are your responsibilities?

  • To be responsible for ensuring that all information received from the Courts and Greater Manchester Police is accurately inputted onto the system and that any discrepancies are challenged and escalated where necessary. 
  • Liaise with partner agencies to support the smooth administration of court processes and to ensure that the correct documentation is available for court listings.
  • Be solely responsible for the secure email system (CJSM). This is the gateway for the Youth Justice Service and therefore all matters need to be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • Undertake the responsibility for the teams administration requirements dealing with any internal queries, holiday and leave requests, new starter requests, referrals, room bookings and any other issues that may arise.
  • Assist with organizing, developing meeting packs including agenda and minutes, communicating, attending and minuting meetings together with the progress and monitoring of actions.
  • Act on own initiative to resolve problems, complaints and issues with the ability to escalate work and queries where necessary.
  • Process and monitor requests for spend/ordering, receipt and payment of goods and services, using the relevant system and complete the required documentation in line with the Councils procedures.
  • To adhere to departmental financial procedures in relation to petty cash, cash income and the ordering, receipt and payment goods using the Agresso system.
  • Respond to customers in an effective and courteous manner either face to face or over the telephone by operating information systems.
  • Maintaining effective admin systems and supporting with data cleaning processes to assist in ensuring that the case management system is updated and maintained to the appropriate standard.

What skills do you Need?

  • Must have previous Business Support experience.
  • Excellent People skills, as you will be speaking to the public, other members of staff and senior managers.
  • Must have a Valid Basic DBS.
  • Minute Taking experience will be required
  • Strong IT Skills, as you will be using Word and Excel, including other internal IT Systems.
