Business Support Within Youth Justice Service

  • £12.04 - £13.61 per hr paye

We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our Youth Justice Service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective, professional, and confidential support service to the team, ensuring the smooth operation of administrative processes and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Accurately input information received from Courts and Greater Manchester Police onto the system, ensuring discrepancies are addressed.
  • Liaise with partner agencies to support court administration and documentation.
  • Manage the secure email system (CJSM), addressing all matters efficiently.
  • Handle the team’s administrative requirements, including internal queries, leave requests, referrals, and room bookings.
  • Organise and develop meeting packs, attend and minute meetings, and monitor the progress of actions.
  • Resolve problems and complaints independently, escalating when necessary.
  • Process and monitor financial requests, using Agresso system and adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Provide courteous customer service both face-to-face and over the telephone.
  • Maintain effective administrative systems and support data cleaning processes for case management system upkeep.
  • Undertake training and stay updated with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Provide comprehensive, confidential administrative and secretarial support.
  • Assist in the development and training of information systems for colleagues.
  • Maintain records and statistics as required.
  • Attend staff meetings regularly and assist the management team in the effective operation of the Service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent).
  • NVQ Level 2 in Business and Administration (desirable).
  • Experience in customer service and administrative support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong administrative, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus.
  • Excellent communication skills and keyboard skills.
  • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Must have a Valid Basic DBS
  • Minute Taking experience will be required
