Are you a dynamic self-starter who is ambitious and focussed? Can you hunt new business, develop demand strategies, build sales pipelines, and develop effective relationships? Reporting to the Head of Sales and working closely with the marketing team alongside your sales colleagues, you will be responsible for accelerating new business sales within the UK, covering both simulation and systems engineering applications. You will be expected to visit client sites, attend conferences, and trade shows as and when required to meet the needs of the business.

What you will need to succeed as Business Development Manager:

  • Consultative selling experience, delivering software and/or consulting solutions to engineering companies by developing and following structured sales methodologies.
  • Strong time management and planning skills, including the ability to forecast accurately and regularly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, presenting solutions clearly and convincingly to technical and non-specialist audiences at a senior level.
  • Self-motivation, with the drive and track record to surpass sales targets.
  • Good team-player who can work effectively with commercial and technical colleagues.
  • An understanding of the application of simulation or similar technologies to solve structural mechanics, fluid dynamics and/or electromagnetics-related engineering challenges.
