Our client, a privately-owned well-established Timber Engineering company is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their sales team. They are looking for someone who is passionate about sales and has previous experience in Timber Merchant sales with good knowledge of timber and related building products. This is an ideal opportunity to progress and build a successful career in the timber / timber engineering industry and to join a forward thinking and expanding company.

Main duties of the role:

  • Selling Products, Roof Trusses and Engineered Floor Joists.
  • Building relationships with customers both over the phone and face to face on the sales counter, to generate repeat business and leads.
  • Visiting customers on site to discuss current and future business.
  • Lead generation and approaching new clients and stakeholders.
  • Managing key accounts end to end.
  • Processing customer orders on our industry bespoke software system for delivery and collection.
  • Answering customer enquiries by email and the phone.
  • Working closely with other departments and teams within the business.
  • Organising materials for customers requirements.

Essential skills:

  • Experience in Timber Merchant sales with good knowledge of timber and related building products.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
  • Confident on the phone and excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in IT.
  • Target driven and hard working.
  • Building and maintaining good working relationships.
  • A team player with a positive, enthusiastic and people focused attitude.

  • 30 days holiday with additional days linked to service.
  • Working Hours: 7.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday. (one Saturday morning in four 7.45am to 12.00 noon).
