Business Development Manager

Are you an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) from the lighting sector looking to join a family-owned industrial lighting business. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who is driven to bring in new business and has a proven sales record within the lighting industry. The position offers flexible working, allowing you to be based from home and in the field, with a focus on commercial projects.

Day to Day duties of the role:
  • Generate sales opportunities through prospecting calls and emails, as well as managing inbound leads from marketing efforts, providing feedback and analytics on our CRM system.
  • Utilise LinkedIn Sales Navigator and a dedicated lead generation tool to identify new leads and live projects.
  • Manage existing leads in your region via our CRM system to create sales opportunities, logging progress and project details.
  • Ensure quotations are accurate and align with project specifications before sending them out.
  • Conduct outbound calls and emails to follow up on live and future projects, maintaining a healthy pipeline of opportunities, quotes, and orders.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on projects, seeking support and guidance to ensure the highest level of delivery for clients.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven sales record within the lighting industry.
  • Strong ability to work independently and be self-driven.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Flexibility to travel for client and site meetings, adapting to client and project demands.
  • Keen attitude to learn and develop within the industry.
