A Global manufacturing giant in the fasteners and engineered components market is looking to further strengthen its well established UK operation with a Business Development Manager / Senior Sales Engineer to build on existing success in aerospace OEM and first tier markets to capitalise on a major investment in these markets by my client.
 
SALARY: Basic Salary, negotiable dependent on experience to attract the right person.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Development Manager, Senior Technical Sales Engineer -  Engineered Components, Fastenings, Fasteners to Aerospace OEMs
 
· A fairly even split of time spent with a significant customer base producing circa £1m+ at the moment, and developing new business.
· The existing business will involve extending the range supplied my client who recently acquired two companies with complimentary ranges to theirs with the specific aim of developing the aerospace (civil and military) and defence markets- so a lot of potential to grow business and make a name for yourself in the group.
· An important part of the role will be generating new business from marketing (website, exhibition etc) generated leads. Also the company's CRM system / database and your own  market knowledge and Linkedin activity.
· Whether existing or new, your job will be to get the technical teams from my client and the customer together to introduce and/ or extend my client's range of engineering and fastening solutions.
· Lead times can be long- up to 3-5 years to secure the bigger, long- term sales and projects. Mainly covering the UK, but the role could include European if the candidate has contacts and / or sees potential growth there.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Business Development Manager, Senior Technical Sales Engineer - Engineered Components, Fastenings, Fasteners to Aerospace OEMs
 
To be considered for this potentially rewarding role in terms of remuneration and career progression:
 
· You will have a proven track of business development, technical  sales and/ or account management in the aerospace and/ or defence markets to OEMs and first tier suppliers.
· Ideally this will be in fastenings, but my client would definitely consider other technical or engineered components or products into those markets.
· An ability to read, interpret and/or do technical drawings will be helpful as would any knowledge of milling, drilling and machining.
· What is most important is however is success selling into and developing business in the aerospace and defence markets.

Established for over 140 years, my client is a global giant in their market with a £700m+ annual turnover from 43 locations in 25 countries with 3,300 employees. Established in 1984 in the UK, they have two sites, one manufacturing, a £10m+ annual turnover, 65 staff and a sales team of 3 Regional Sales Engineers reporting into a Sales Director, as well as an aerospace specialist. They supply just about every major automotive and aerospace OEM worldwide, and tiered suppliers.
 
Manufacturing a wide range of bespoke and standard premium quality fasteners and other components, they are a byword for technical expertise, quality of product and after sales back up. Their company ethos includes really looking after their personnel and environmental sustainability.
