BUS MECHANIC/HGV TECHNICIANS
WORKING 4 - 5 DAYS A WEEK (38 HOURS A WEEK) WHICH WILL INCLUDE WEEKEND WORKING
£42,000 - £45,000 PER ANNUM
People Solutions are recruiting for Bus Mechanics/HGV Technicians to join our reputable client based in Newport, Wales.
Due to business growth, multiple roles are available.

- Enhances pay rates for evening & weekend working: Mon - Sat - £18.00 per hour/After 19:00 hours - £22.50 per hour/ Sundays £27.00 per hour
Day to Day Duties
The purpose of this role is to ensure that the Bus and PSV fleet are legal, compliant and road-worthy by carrying out any mechanical work required.
Daily Duties are as follows:
- General servicing of PSV & light vehicle fleet
- Repairs & unit changing
- MOT preparation and presentation
- Fault diagnosis and rectification
- Breakdown attendance
- Vehicle safety inspections
- Daily vehicle defect report clearance
- Completing all documents to the required standards
- Adherence to all policies and procedures
Essential Skills
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs.
- Knowledge and experience of PSV & Categorisation of defects manual.
- Valid UK Category B Driving Licence
Desirable Experience
Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
- Able to work unsupervised
- Capable and willing to obtain PSV licence
- Attention to detail
- Flexibility
- Communication
Training
Training provided where applicable for Electric Vehicles, Roadside repairs, IRTEC Vehicle inspection standards and PSV license.
