We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our team due to expansion. As a Building Surveyor you will carry out surveys of Freebridge properties for maintenance, investment, and repairs. Report on survey findings and provide advise and recommendations on maintenance investment and repairs. Addionally you will ensure that all Freebridge owned and managed properties are maintained to the highest possible standards and that all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.

Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 7,000 homes across West Norfolk, making a difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles. We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Property Services team. Over the last 14 years, there have been numerous achievements, not least delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living.

Requirements

  • Follow repairs and voids process from inception to completion, working with the internal delivery service team and contractors to ensure responsive repairs and void turnaround times are kept to a minimum and within agreed targets. Raising of orders to said contractors to ensure accurate SOR used
  • To undertake a range of inspections to the appropriate quality as required ensuring that the data is accurate, and photos uploaded on our databases. This includes stock condition surveys, HHSRS, works quality audits, void inspections
  • Undertake detailed inspections for damp, condensation, subsidence, structural and dilapidation related issues, working with NHF SOR to build specifications to provide clear instruction to contractors and Inhouse Deliver Team
  • Produce specifications, costings for insurance cases, working with loss adjustors and other external bodies, to resolve complex issues.  Keeping accurate records and updates of each case from inception through to completion
  • Carry out pre and post inspections and scheduling of works within set timescales

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of customer service environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of repairs and maintenance of properties
  • HNC (or equivalent) or above in Surveying or Construction, Housing, or a Commercial/Business related subject
  • Able to demonstrate technical and practical knowledge of legislation to ensure that the works reflect our organisation's excellent service and commitment to quality
  • A background in Social housing or housing environment is desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence
