Building Surveyor

Excellent opportunity for a experienced building surveyor to join a large maintenance contractor.

We are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to work alongside a team undertaking social housing maintenance & repair works, roofing and assets for a large social housing provider.

2 days based from the office in Hungerford.


The main duties of the role are as followings;

  • Undertaking asset & validation surveys prior to works beginning
  • To effect the implementation of policies concerning the maintenance of the HA property portfolio.
  • To advise managers on work required to properties and evaluate such work and where appropriate provide accurate costing for the proposed including surveys as part of the wider stock condition and asset management plan.
  • To pre-plan, evaluate, programme, implement, oversee and certify schedules of work including quality control.
  • To keep well informed on all legislation, legal and technical aspects concerning the provision of an effective maintenance service to the HA.
  • To liaise with and encourage effective consultation and working arrangements with effected parties in accordance with HA policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to instruct, supervise and communicate with contractors and consultants in a professional manner.
  • Experience in surveying of buildings and specifying remedial works.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in social housing maintenance sector
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Qualified to ONC/HNC or equivalent in Building Discipline desirable.
