Building Services & Site Support Technician
Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to: Engineering Manager

Reed in Colchester are delighted to be supporting our client seeking a Building Services & Site Support Technician to manage and deliver a safe, efficient, and compliant working environment for their local site on a long-term temporary basis. This role provides an essential technical support service and requires a professional with a strong understanding of site services and their legal requirements.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:

• Facilities Management: Manage the estate facilities to ensure compliance with legislation and good practice. This includes working with contractors and staff to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment, operating and maintaining the Building Management System (BMS), and developing the site with replacement and new equipment.

• Budget Management: Set and monitor the facilities budget for multi-sites in conjunction with the Engineering Manager

• Energy Optimisation: Work towards optimising energy consumption at the site

• Support for Other Sites: Provide facilities support to other sites as required

• Compliance and Reporting: Serve as the contact point for Auditors and Insurance Inspectors within the facilities arena, adhere to relevant processes, and keep records for audit and legislative compliance. Plan and deliver small projects and provide monthly reports of activities.

• Site Support: Offer technical support to the Engineering Support department, resolve Engineering Help desk requests, conduct Quality Assurance checks, test and correct equipment, and support project delivery

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Essential

 Understanding of Site Services and their legal requirements

 Experience in a maintenance/installation role

 Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools

 Good IT and communication skills

 Basic understanding of electrical systems

 Willingness to learn and develop as per the competency framework

 Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements for building management

Desirable

 Contractor management experience

 Electrical Engineering qualification

 Health & Safety qualification
