Safe World Insurance Group (UK) Ltd is a niche insurance company based in Lancashire. They specialise in Deposit Protection Insurance and Insurance Backed Guarantees for the UK home improvement industry, which is sold through insurance intermediaries, or purchased by several recognised consumer protection schemes.

They began underwriting policies in 2018 and are one of the only UK based specialist underwriters of these products, with over a million policyholders, growing year on year. Our team has considerable experience in the home improvement industry and "Insurance Backed Guarantee" market, and we aim to continue building on our unique position in this market.

Role Purpose

As a proven technical expert within the Construction industry, you will have a vital role in the resolution of complex claims and underwriting considerations, in the glazing, renewable energy, insulation and general home improvement markets.

Undertaking inspections at properties and ensuring our panel of approved installers effectively supports our operational and claims teams through the timely, efficient, and quality delivery of agreed works for our policyholders.

You will work collaboratively with our internal teams, specialist supply chain partners, and third parties to ensure that required works are delivered within the brief and in line with agreed contract values/budgets.

You will be a driving force, providing technical/product training to our teams, quality assuring installers, maintaining, and further developing our panel of approved installers across the UK, attending on site to review and assess works and to support the remediation of escalations and complaints.

Principal Accountabilities:

· Provide technical input in relation to complex claims, underwriting support and technical input into the consideration of new home improvement products.

· Undertake site inspections or accompany Approved Installers when undertaking inspections / undertaking remedial works.

· Provide leadership and direction to operational teams, suppliers, and contractors in the delivery of agreed works, including Approved Installers and projects.

· Demonstrate through strong technical and professional skills, the ability to understand and interrogate survey reports, installation, and commissioning programmes.

· Drive quality and technical competence through the recruitment, management and efficacy of our panel of Approved Installers used as part of our claims process, undertaking inspections and remedial works.

· Delivering a quality service in a sustainable, efficient, cost effective and safe manner, whilst fostering effective working relationships with Installers product manufacturers and third parties.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to address challenges and ensure client satisfaction.

· Monitor works progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

· Ensure compliance with Building Control, Local Planning Authority, and all other regulatory bodies.

· Discuss complex technical claims with third parties / claimants.

· Manage a portfolio of complex claims to completion.

· Ensure claims costs are appropriately mitigated.

· Identifying ad hoc contractors when needed for claims, where we do not have an appropriate Approved Installer in that area.

· Longer term building an internal team, to undertake remedial works.

Desirable Skills

· Proven experience working within the Construction industry.

  • Experience as a Site Manager in construction, building services, home improvement sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes and best practices.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office.
  • CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid qualifications preferred.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
