A national Approved Inspector are seeking a Building Control Surveyor of low-rise / domestic schemes in Manchester. Starting salary from £40,000 - £60,000, plus bonus, £350 allowance / company car, 45p per mile, 38 days' annual leave, with the opportunity for career progression.

Building Control Surveyor responsibilities:

  • Check plans for compliance with the Building Regulations and associated legislation
  • Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendment notices and final certificates
  • Undertake inspection of works and produce reports
  • At completion of works ensure all relevant inspections have been performed with appropriate certification submitted, and defects/non-conformities addressed before final certification has been issued
  • Support the training and development of assistant surveyors
  • Contribute to client meetings
  • Undertake peer review audits on an ad-hoc basis

Building Control Surveyor requirements:

  • Associate / Full membership preferred; RICS, CABE, CIOB
  • Existing Building Control Surveyor experience including plan assessments in line with Class 2 Registered Building Inspector status
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Self-sufficient workload management
