Our client, a forward thinking, independent firm of Chartered Accountants are seeking a Bookkeeper to join their team in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

The role will involve dealing with the accounts, bookkeeping and VAT for a variety of companies and will include:-

  • Daily bookkeeping in office or at clients site
  • Liaising with a variety of clients and building lasting relationships
  • Assisting with the production of monthly accounts and reports
  • Reconciliation balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
  • Preparation and posting journals for payroll, prepayments, accruals, fixed assets, VAT etc.
  • VAT returns
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Other ad-hoc duties

You will ideally have at least 18 months to two years accounts and bookkeeping experience, preferably in practice, although they will also consider someone with a commercial background. Study support is also offered for professional exams such as AAT or ACCA if required.

A good working knowledge of Sage, Xero and IRIS would also be an advantage.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly firm with superb prospects and whilst the position is office based, there may be an option for flexible/hybrid working after the initial probation period.
