- Job Type: Part Time (30 hours per week)
- Location: Dynamic working after probation - Stokenchurch
- Salary: £32000 - £35000 pro rata
We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Bookkeeper with a passion for streamlining processes and implementing controls. The ideal candidate will have the enthusiasm and skills to automate procedures such as invoice approvals and employee expenses, and be proficient in using Sage for financial transactions.
Day to Day of the Role:
- Manage purchase accounting, including invoice approvals, supplier payments, and reconciliations (300 per invoices per week during peak times)
- Enter transactions onto Sage, including credit card and direct debit transactions.
- Reconcile petty cash and process employee expense claims with correct coding and authorisation.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
- Communicate payroll changes to our provider and process payment schedules.
- Enrol employees in the pension scheme and manage monthly payments.
- Administer annual leave using BreatheHR and calculate holiday pay accrual.
- During the opera season, liaise with managers to ensure invoices and bank details are received and manage payments to artists and technical crew.
- Oversee income tax paperwork for foreign artists and manage seasonal staff hours and pay rates.
- Assist with year-end audit preparations, including prepayments, accruals, and fixed asset register.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of Sage accounting software.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with systems such as Advantage Services.
