Boiler Technician

Boiler Technician is required for our Sudbury-based manufacturing client. Reporting directly to the facilities manager and working alongside another Boiler technician you will play a key part in the plant room where you will be working on preventative maintenance, maintaining and fixing any issues with the mechanical machines within the plant room. It is essential to be considered for this position of boiler Technician that you possess experience working in a commercial plant room where you have to deal with steam and iron pipes, and ideally have some knowledge electrical, plumbing, fabrication and general building maintenance but not essential. Although qualifications within this field would be ideal the experience is more essential as you will have the opportunity to gain qualifications within your role.

The role

• Handling preventative mechanical maintenance in the plant room
• Delivery of planned repair and/or install of existing and new equipment projects
• Deal with any maintenance repairs on the building and machines when required
• Monitor and maintain boilers and their supporting pumps, motors and controls
• Deal with any issues of the iron and steampipes within the plant room
• Organise and liaise with onsite sub-contractors
• Maintain the fabric of the building, as well as key plant and systems.
• Carry out site and equipment safety checks

Required Experience

• Must possess commercial plant room experience
• Essential knowledge of iron/steam pipes

• Previous maintenance experience gained in large operational buildings
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
• Electrical, plumbing and minor building works experience ideal but not essential

• Must be confident with hand and power tools and working from heights as well as small spaces
• Strong problem solving and fault-finding skills.
• Key eye for detail
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
