Job Summary: Are you a skilled Specialist Biomedical Scientist seeking a Band 6 role? Join East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust for a 4-month contract. As a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you'll work 37.5 hours per week on a 24/7 rota, playing a crucial role in our laboratory operations to ensure accurate diagnostics and quality patient care.

Main Duties:

• Conduct routine and specialized analyses efficiently and reliably.
• Perform investigations and analytical techniques independently.
• Rotate through all department sections, including specimen reception.
• Operate high-value analytical equipment and troubleshoot faults.
• Ensure accuracy and precision of results through quality assurance.
• Interpret results and maintain detailed patient records.
• Supervise MLA and Trainee BMS staff, assist with stock control.

Information Systems:

• Utilize Laboratory Information System (LIMS) per protocols.
• Assist in IT-based Quality Management and stock control systems.

Equipment:

• Operate specialist computer systems integrated with analyzers.
• Utilize various analyzers, including Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay.

Requirements:

• Health Professions Council Registered Biomedical Scientist
• Experience in blood science service and analytical investigations.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems and quality management systems
• Ability to work unsocial hours and assume first-line responsibility.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Note:

• This role is for a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist.
• Duration: 4 months, working 37.5 hours a week on a 24/7 rota.
• We will only accept CVs from candidates with a capped rate for Band 6, and all candidates must be IR35 compliant.
