Job Summary: Are you a skilled Specialist Biomedical Scientist seeking a Band 6 role? Join East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust for a 4-month contract. As a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you'll work 37.5 hours per week on a 24/7 rota, playing a crucial role in our laboratory operations to ensure accurate diagnostics and quality patient care.
Main Duties:
- Conduct routine and specialized analyses efficiently and reliably.
- Perform investigations and analytical techniques independently.
- Rotate through all department sections, including specimen reception.
- Operate high-value analytical equipment and troubleshoot faults.
- Ensure accuracy and precision of results through quality assurance.
- Interpret results and maintain detailed patient records.
- Supervise MLA and Trainee BMS staff, assist with stock control.
Information Systems:
- Utilize Laboratory Information System (LIMS) per protocols.
- Assist in IT-based Quality Management and stock control systems.
Equipment:
- Operate specialist computer systems integrated with analyzers.
- Utilize various analyzers, including Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay.
Requirements:
- Health Professions Council Registered Biomedical Scientist
- Experience in blood science service and analytical investigations.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems and quality management systems
- Ability to work unsocial hours and assume first-line responsibility.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Note:
- This role is for a Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist.
- Duration: 4 months, working 37.5 hours a week on a 24/7 rota.
- We will only accept CVs from candidates with a capped rate for Band 6, and all candidates must be IR35 compliant.
