Billing & Settlements Manager

My client is looking for a Billing & Settlements Manager to ensure the smooth operation of billing processes and industry settlement performance within the energy supply industry. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining an accurate, efficient, and compliant billing operation.

Role Responsibilities

• Demonstrate an ability to be a data driven leader and decision maker
• Oversee operations related to bill generation, balancing accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
• Identify and own end to end resolution of billing related incidents / issues.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify billing innovation opportunities, driving these forwards to evolve billing performance.
• Monitor and manage billing to settlement gaps to reduce revenue leakage.
• Support relationship management with relevant third parties to ensure billing is accurate and timely.
• Contribute to regulatory requests as required using technical skills and expertise.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of industry flows across electricity and gas supply
• Monitor and manage industry settlement performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Handle HH and NHH settlements efficiently, resolving exceptions as needed.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of gas settlements.
• Support the business in the implementation of the Market Wide Half Hourly Settlement programme.
• Stay informed and ahead of regulatory changes and industry best practice.
• Develop accurate forecasts for billing and settlement volumes.
• Consistently monitor the billing and settlements portfolios, identifying trends and potential risks
• Proactively address any discrepancies or anomalies
• Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions promptly.
• Collaborate with relevant parties to prevent recurrence.

The ideal candidate should have prior experience in Billing and Settlements functions and familiarity with back office operations in an energy supplier context. The candidate should also have proficiency in handling HH and NHH settlements, strong understanding of industry flows, including electricity and gas supply and knowledge of D0095 and D0235. The successful candidate should be proactive in identifying trends, risks and opportunities and comfortable with data analysis and forecasting.
