Our Business Development Team is currently seeking a Bid Writer to support the development of compelling, winning proposals to a range of public sector clients.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Work closely with the bid team to understand project requirements, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information and insights necessary for proposal development.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive content tailored to the specific requirements of each bid.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other team members to gather input and ensure accuracy and completeness of proposals.
  • Adhere to strict bid deadlines.
  • Review and edit proposal content to ensure consistency, clarity, and compliance with funder guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners as needed to gather supporting documentation and data.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, funding opportunities, and best practices in bid writing.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of bid development processes and tools.
  • Support the handover process to programme delivery teams.
  • Contribute to and maintain a database of bid response resources and information 

About You

Essential

  • The ability to translate delivery models and programme plans into compelling written proposals that align with the tender specification and effectively conveys OI Advice’s USPs and win themes.
  • The agility to work in a fast-paced environment, producing high quality written work to meet challenging deadlines.
  • The ability to work on multiple bids at once.
  • Excellent team-working and interpersonal skills, supporting and collaborating with colleagues across OI Advice to develop winning bids.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing compelling and persuasive proposals.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills.
  • A positive, friendly, driven, self-motivated and results-oriented personality.

Desirable

  • Understanding and experience of public sector procurement.
  • Knowledge/experience of the business support sector.
  • APMP certification advantageous but not essential.
