Working closely with adults within the Borough of Luton, you will undertake the role of the BIA / CoP Social Worker in line with legislation, case law and local policy, completing all supporting assessments within statutory timescales, as outlined within the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). Obtaining, evaluating and analysing evidence and differing views and weighing them appropriately in decision making, you will identify and action a proposed deprivation of liberty, assessing whether or not this is within best interest and submit relevant reports to the Supervisory Body or Court of Protection.

Resposibilities:
  • To work in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and its principles
  • To work to the ethos of Making Safeguarding Personal
  • To ensure that any suspected abuse of an adult at risk is reported in accordance with the Adult Safeguarding Policy and Procedure
  • To promote awareness of the Adult Safeguarding Policy and the Mental Capacity Act
  • To safeguard adults at risk of abuse or neglect by promoting their health and well-being, dignity and respect
  • To promote the prevention of abuse of adults and carers
  • To ensure any provider service concerns are reported to the Purchasing and Quality Team
Requirements:
  • Recognised Social Work Diploma/Degree qualification
  • ASW/AMHP or Practice Teaching award desirable
  • Must be a Qualified Best Interest Assessor
  • Current Health and Care Professions Council Registration (HCPC)
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Drivers Licence

Location: Luton

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £36,648 - £39,186
