A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the team of a wonderful school in Scunthorpe on a full-time basis starting as soon as possible for at least the next term.

The school are searching for an experienced teaching assistant to work with a child in Key Stage 1 who has challenging behaviour. You will be expected to support learning, assist during lessons and encourage positive behaviour on a daily basis.

The hours of work will be 9:00 - 14:00 Monday to Friday and you will be paid a minimum daily rate of £80.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the child as necessary.
  • Working collaboratively alongside the class teacher to help monitor understanding and plan next steps.
  • Helping to prepare the classroom environment and activities ready for the day and the lessons.
  • Admin tasks such as photocopying, laminating and registering attendance.
  • Assisting the teacher with producing, making and updating of displays.
  • Taking part in school trips, events and activities.
  • Attending any additional CPD as required.
  • Following the school’s policy for behaviour and maintaining high standards.
  • Reporting safeguarding disclosures or concerns as necessary to the designated safeguarding lead.
  • Depending on experience, you may be expected to cover the class if the teacher is absent.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a school or nursery setting in the last 5 years (essential)
  • Level 2 or 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification (desirable)
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
