Seven Social Care are currently recruiting for a Befriending and Volunteer Coordinator to start a new role in Kensington, London.

The Volunteer Befriending & Carers Service enables Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea residents to avoid, and in particular to reduce the need for, prolonged hospital admissions and long-term dependency on mental health services. You will promote recovery and prevent social exclusion among service users with mental health support needs.

Responsibilities:

To produce a volunteer befriending plan for the service and ensure that all policies, procedures, and systems are in place. Recruit, train, and support volunteers to provide a befriending service, enhancing service delivery.

Work closely with the Service Manager to identify the need for and most effective use of community and peer volunteers within a recovery orientated approach.

Recruit, place, train, and support volunteers as Befrienders ensuring that all volunteers understand the roles they are being asked to do and have a job description.

Applicant Requirements:

Experience: Experience of promoting recovery and prevent social exclusion among service users with mental health support needs.

Compliance: Enhanced DBS on update service, Right to Work in the UK

Hours: 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday
