Banking Accountant - Prestigious International Bank

Are you an experienced accountant seeking a dynamic role within the banking sector?

We are seeking a talented individual to join our clients Finance team as a Management Accounting Analyst. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting senior management by delivering comprehensive financial analysis and collaborating closely with various business units to identify trends and offer valuable insights. This role is based in West End, London, with the requirement to work in the office three days per week.The bank will sponsor you to become a part-qualified/ qualified accountant.

Responsibilities:

• Generating daily Profit and Loss (P&L) reports
• Conducting meticulous investigations into any discrepancies and deliver comprehensive variance analysis for internal stakeholders.
• Acting as the main contact person for all financial inquiries, fostering seamless communication between departments.
• Conducting daily reconciliation of nostro accounts and promptly resolving any outstanding items pertaining to the Finance team.
• Reviewing end-of-day reports to confirm transaction accuracy and detect any irregular ledger postings.
• Maintaining, reconciling, and reporting on project cost accounts, collaborating closely with the Project Management team to identify and address unusual entries.
• Producing monthly profit reports for the head offices, offering valuable insights to management teams.
• Working alongside department heads to develop monthly forecasts for income and costs.
• Assisting in the preparation of the annual budget and providing support throughout the budgeting process.
• Serving as a key point of contact for auditors during audits, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of management accounting experience in the banking sector.
• Proficient in Excel, with a proven ability to build complex spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with General Ledgers and Management Information (MI) systems.
