A friendly and dedicated Bank Support Staff is needed to join a small team in supporting a young individual with various care needs, including personal care and transportation.

Is Driving Essential? Yes, a car will be provided while on duty - a Volkswagen Transporter (automatic). Candidates must hold a valid UK driving licence, and for car insurance purposes, they should be over 25 years old.
Essential:Minimum of one year experience supporting young people with physical disabilities. Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.  Non-smoker/vaper. Moving and handling experience required. *Female support worker only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours:  A rota is available three months in advance, allowing flexibility for individuals to work around other commitments.

Shifts available: Weekdays 08:00 AM to 10:30 AM / 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Weekends 09:30 AM to 8:30 PM, with the option for sleeping shifts. If you can work any of these hours, please apply.
Family/Client Pets: Two friendly dogs will be present in the home during shifts.
Accommodation: A comfortable staff bedroom with an ensuite bathroom is available for any additional sleeping night shifts if required.

  • Provide support with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to promote independence and well-being.
  • Assist individuals in accessing community resources and participating in social activities.
  • Administer medication according to prescribed guidelines and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Monitor and report any changes in individuals' physical or mental health conditions.
  • Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Participate in training sessions and stay updated on best practises in social services.
Required Qualifications:
  • Valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
  • Previous experience in a similar Support Worker role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Flexible availability for different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Support Worker or in a similar role.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Understanding of person-centred care and its importance in supporting individuals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to social services.
  • Basic understanding of medication administration and record-keeping.
  • Ability to assess and respond to individuals' needs effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Additional training in safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • First Aid certification.
Working Conditions:
  • Bank hours available, rota done 3 months ahead but also short notice cover and on call duties available.
  • Split shifts Monday to Friday, with long days on weekends.
  • Work may involve physical tasks and standing for extended periods.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for insurance purposes.
  • Exposure to challenging and sensitive situations.
  • Adherence to health and safety guidelines and protocols.
