Job Opportunity: Avionics Technician

Location: RAF Odiham

Contract Length - 6 months

Pay rate: £31p/h - Inside IR35

Our client, is a leading player in the aerospace industry, is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join their MRO Team at RAF Odiham. As part of this dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in the modification, servicing, and repair of aerospace vehicles, specifically focusing on Ch47 aircraft.

Job Description:

As an Avionics Technician, you will be an integral part of our MRO modification, servicing, and repair team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performing assembly, disassembly, and modification of Ch47 aircraft primary structures and complex aircraft systems, including hydraulics, flight controls, and propulsion.
  • Conducting maintenance activities, fault diagnosis, and disturbed system functional tests, ensuring accurate and timely work recording.
  • Troubleshooting complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems to isolate and repair faults.
  • Collaborating with peers to perform tasks associated with the safe handling of aerospace vehicles.
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to junior technicians.
  • Working under minimal direction, showcasing autonomy and initiative in your tasks.

Skills/Experience:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • Extensive experience working on Boeing Ch47 Aircraft, with familiarity with Boeing specifications and drawings.
  • Previous experience working within a team of aircraft technicians.
  • Vocational-based trade training in avionics or a related field.

Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates must have completed a recognized relevant trade apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, workbook instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environmental processes, including FOD control, tool control, health & safety, and COSHH.
