Automation Controls Engineer

Our Birmingham client is looking for an experienced Automation Controls Engineer.

You will be working for a dynamic company specialising in cutting-edge automation for turnkey projects seeks an experienced Control Development Engineer. Play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining bespoke solutions for diverse projects in the automotive and industrial sectors.



Responsibilities:

  • Implement automation processes using internal software and DACS based on customer requirements.
  • Develop C# control software using the CADET API, with knowledge of VB6/VBA for legacy systems.
  • Interface with 3rd party equipment for integration within CADET and C#.
  • Develop automation sequences using CADET editor tools and analyse engineering systems.
  • Analyse post-test logs for fault rectifications within complex systems.
  • Create test procedures and custom functionalities based on customer requirements.
  • Conduct site visits for installation, testing, and documentation, both in the UK and globally.
  • Understand and modify electrical systems for specific applications.
  • Manage source code using SourceTree, BitBucket, and Jira.


Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a hardware-based automation role.
  • PLC systems experience, especially safety PLC systems (desirable).
  • C# and Visual Studio proficiency.
  • Engineering understanding of control and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with automation hardware.
  • Full UK driving licence.
