My client is expanding within the East Midlands and is recruiting a dedicated and tenacious, client-focused Audit Senior, who is looking to forward their career with a dynamic organisation.

You will be working across various sectors throughout the Midlands, giving you exposure to different service needs that will allow you to work independently, with the guidance and direction of managers, directors, and partners. 

As Audit Senior, you will be alongside dedicated and talented individuals, who will support and guide you in a collaborative and professional manner. You will work across mixed-sector clients and be involved in all aspects of the audit preparation.

They are ranked Top 40 in the National Accountancy Age ranking by firm size and were the fastest-growing firm within the surveyed top 100 accountancy firms in the UK.  The team is now over 650 people strong with offices throughout the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities

  • You will take responsibility for the completion of smaller audits and report directly to the Managers.
  • You will be responsible for making sure that files are prepared to a high standard in accordance with the audit manual for managerial review
  • You will delegate assignments and support with the supervision of junior members of staff and review the work performed
  • You will be liaising between clients and managers during the audit to provide an effective and pro-active service
  • You will proactively work on larger audits and complete sections as part of a larger team
  • You will take responsibility for the preparation of statutory and non-statutory accounts
  • You will work closely with other areas of the business to support all client requirements
  • You will perform detailed technical work and be instrumental in the delivery of service to clients, in a supportive manner

Skills and Qualifications

  • You will be working towards your ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Have a minimum of 2 years audit experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Have a good understanding of relevant software’s such as CaseWare or similar or be able to quickly adapt to the use of new software
  • Excellent understanding of the effects of taxes on a set of accounts
