Location: Offices near Canary Wharf, London

An ambitious and growing firm of accountants with offices in London and Cambridgeshire, specialising in providing services to a wide range of clients, from small and medium size growth businesses and individuals to multinational corporations. Due to its ongoing growth the firm is looking to establish a new audit department and therefore fill its first Audit Partner position at their London offices.

Working alongside the Partners, and at an important time in the firm’s continuing development, this role offers an amazing opportunity for an experienced Audit Partner to seed a new audit business within an established firm, to help shape the future direction of the firm, and of course grow the overall business.

Responsibilities for the role of Audit Partner:

  • lead the firm’s new audit function and strategy, ensuring excellence and success is delivered from the outset;
  • work with senior colleagues in furthering the goals and ambitions of the firm, particularly in the provision of a new high quality service, and to develop new business;
  • grow the audit team through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development;
  • oversee the delivery of the audit function, ensuring expectations, deadlines, and budgets are met;
  • Act as Responsible Individual on new engagements;
  • Professionally represent the firm as required and help scope new business opportunities;
  • set a very good example for a Partner in the firm;
  • ensuring internal management systems and processes are updated and maintained accurately in a timely manner;
  • other duties as may reasonably be requested from time to time.

Experience required for the role of Audit Partner:

  • qualified Audit Partner with experience of managing an audit portfolio;
  • RI status;
  • strong track record of leading an audit department with a commercial approach;
  • confident in representing the firm to help secure new business;
  • able to understand business processes, oversee the implementation and improvement of systems.

Person specification:

  • an established professional with proven leadership capability;
  • this position requires confidence, flexibility and enthusiasm;
  • must be a strong communicator, possessing excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • presentable, courteous and polite.
