Responsibilities:

As the Audit Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the audit department's operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit and assurance services. Your key responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and managing a team of audit professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of audit engagements.
  • Taking ownership of audit assignments from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing comprehensive audit plans tailored to each client's specific needs and circumstances.
  • Overseeing the preparation and review of audit workpapers, financial statements, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact and addressing any audit-related queries or concerns.
  • Collaborating with other departments to offer integrated service solutions and identify opportunities for cross-selling firm services.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, best practices, and changes in accounting and auditing standards to enhance audit methodologies.
  • Participating in the recruitment, training, and development of audit team members to foster a high-performing and motivated workforce.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified, with significant post-qualification experience in audit within a reputable accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading audit engagements for a diverse client portfolio, including private companies and not-for-profit organizations.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards, with a strong commitment to maintaining technical proficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a team of audit professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive and results-oriented approach, with a commitment to delivering top-tier client service.
  • Proficiency in using audit software and MS Office suite.
