As part of our Residential Service Charge Audit team, you'll receive the support you need to reach your potential, developing new skills and exploring different learning opportunities, you’ll join a friendly and diverse team whose work really matters.

We’ll help you succeed

The work we do is underpinned by quality. We deliver audits and agreed upon procedures which are trusted and transparent which can be relied upon by landlords, managing agents, companies and their stakeholders. You’ll be someone who is comfortable working proactively and managing your own tasks as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with Senior Manager, Directors, and BDO’s Partners. You’ll help deliver accurate and transparent reporting to all relevant stakeholders as you provide long term value. You’ll also:

• Act as a major point of contact within the firm. This includes responding quickly to, as well as anticipating requests/ needs and keeping stakeholders informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the audit.
• Responsible for the financial management of a portfolio.
• Complete assignments within agreed budgets and timescales and identify opportunities for additional billings.
• Ensure assignments are staffed with the appropriate mix of knowledge and skills required.
• Ensure that the firm’s risk management and quality control procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Identify and recognise business and sales opportunities.
• Support Directors and Senior Manager in the development of new business relationships and business proposals through high level sales and marketing activity.
• Support with the implementation and communication of any new business.
• Recruit, retain, develop and motivate our employees, which includes participating in recruitment, training, ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines and ensuring appropriate objectives and development plans are in place for counselees.
• Will work as part of management team with other Audit Managers within the business group (e.g. resource planning, merit rate meetings and efficiency gains)
• Act as an ambassador of the firm, participates in office marketing events, keeps abreast of the wide range of service the firm offers.
• Act as a role model for trainees and executives.
• ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
• Previous experience of managing people.
• Good working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP and Financial Reporting requirements.
• Working knowledge of financial products, firm services, issues regarding advice and regulation and compliance, including anti-money laundering.
• Experience of systems/controls testing as well as substantive auditing, including consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts and disclosures.
• Project Management experience.
• Service Charge experience (desirable but not essential).

The Residential Service Charge Audit is a dedicated team currently comprising a Partner, three Directors, a Senior Manager and seven staff members delivering a portfolio in excess of £1.6m. The team also utilises the resources of a significant offshore delivery team for certain elements of the audit work performed.
