Top 15 Not for profit team has an opportunity for somebody experienced in the Not for Profit sector who is keen to manage their own portfolio. The firm is committed to the development and wellbeing of its staff and has an excellent work life balance/ hybrid working policy.

As an Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for a medium sized portfolio of clients

You will be delivering multiple assignments to agreed deadlines, reporting directly to Senior Managers, Directors and Partners.

The team's Non-Profit clients include charities, schools, colleges, membership bodies, religious organisations, as well as some commercial clients.

This is a role for an excellent communicator, who has the ability to explain accounting concepts to clients, and has the confidence and credibility to attend board and subcommittee meetings and to participate in tender activity. You will be fully immersed in the sector and the area, attending client premises, seminars and the occasional evening event.

You will be contributing to the overall growth and management of the firm. You will also take responsibility for developing junior staff and will support the firm`s
values and act as a role model for your team members.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Day to day contact with the team, clients, HMRC and other professional advisors.
All aspects of audit and accounts assignment management including: job planning, budgeting, time management, delegating to, and supervising of, team, monitoring of team progress and managing projects, detailed review of file, debriefing team with a key focus on feedback, tax compliance if required and liaising with tax specialists if needed, finalisation of file for Partner review, including the calculation of corporation tax and submission to HMRC and Companies House.

Undertaking billing procedures for your clients.
Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties.
Motivation and encouragement of team, providing timely constructive feedback.
Overseeing and mentoring trainees during their training contract, providing assistance when required.
Assisting with in-house training and learning and development
Considerate, prompt and feedback to junior team members.
Attending client gatherings or client seminars on an ad hoc basis.
Identifying account development opportunities with clients and progressing these in liaison with the Partner.
Assisting with preparation and presentation of new client pitches.

Skills and Experience

Qualified in ACA or ACCA, or internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification
1 - 2 years PQE.
Experience of running own portfolio.
Non-Profit audit experience.
High level of familiarity with UK auditing and accounting standards.
Adaptable and flexible approach.
Ability to motivate and encourage others.
Personable and confident - clients should feel confident of their ability to relate to them.
Ability to effectively identify and approach prospects and contribute to the development of the practice.
