Thermit Welding, a world leading and strategic supplier to the Rail, Metro and Light Railway Industry, is seeking a ATW (Alumino Thermic Welding) Welder Trainer. Reporting to the Welding and Training Manager, you will be responsible for the training and assessment of ATW (Alumino Thermic Welding) Welders, at their Derby facility.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide out of track training and assessments on the premises and other approved training centres where required.
  • Assist with production of new training material.
  • Provide training on customer sites (principally UK).
  • Undertake site assessments on third party welders.
  • Provide site support to customers, including reporting of all visits.
  • Day to day maintenance of training facilities including equipment, classrooms, training aids and welding stillages.
  • Provide support to Management for development and testing of new products and processes.

Skills helpful for the role:

  • NVQ qualifications for delivering training and assessment.
  • Qualified welder to TW5 minimum.
  • Qualified welding inspector WI.1 would be an advantage.
  • NSAR (National Skills Academy for Rail) assured trainer/assessor status would be an advantage.
