Our Newcastle office is currently recruiting for an Associate (Corporate). As well as the relevant skills and experience, we're looking for people who are innovative, commercial and value the work that they do. The Team:

Our global corporate practice, including a team of US-qualified lawyers, delivers seamless, commercial advice to both market leading and growth corporations and financial institutions. With over 900 corporate lawyers globally, our technical expertise, deep industry knowledge and commercial acumen is relied on and valued by our clients. We advise on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial work, including a particular focus on highly complex domestic, cross border and multi-jurisdictional transactions. The Corporate department is divided into several teams and the focus for this particular team covers a broad range of corporate work involving public and private Mergers and Acquisitions ('M&A'), joint ventures, capital raising and ECM across the energy, infrastructure, mining and commodities, transport, and technology and innovation sectors.

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen for an associate to join our Corporate department in Newcastle. The work will include a broad mix of corporate work, focusing on capital raising, M&A, ECM and joint ventures.

Skills and Experience Required:

· Qualified lawyer with excellent experience at a law firm

· Experience of working in M&A in the UK and International markets (desirable)

· Experience advising on a wide range of corporate, joint venture and commercial transactions (including exposure to private and public M&A)

· Proven transaction management ability

· Experience in developing client relationships and business development

· Excellent academic background

· Ability to develop and apply technical knowledge and professional skills

· Work effectively with and through people
