Oliver James are pleased to be working with a leading partner led consultancy in their search for an Associate Actuarial Consultant to join their pensions wind-up team

Working within this dedicated wind-up team, you will support a portfolio of clients through their wind-up journey working with both Trustee Boards and Sponsoring Employers of UK DB pension schemes. You will provide oversight when both planning for and carrying out scheme wind up projects and putting together the relevant project plans. You will also lead on strategic and technical aspects related to wind ups, e.g. comparing scheme factors to insurer factors, carrying out winding up lump sum exercises, inputting into funding reserves and providing surplus balance sheets.

Role requirements:

  • Wealth of DB pensions knowledge from either an actuarial, project management or administrative background
  • Interpersonal and client relationship management skills
  • Studying towards or qualified PMI/FIA would be ideal but is by no means essential

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading consultancy in a growing team due to the direction of the pensions market. This role is well suited to those that like to project manage whilst being in a technical and strategic role. There may also be opportunities to support other areas of the business (for example in risk transfer, actuarial consulting, scheme governance, proposition development and new business).
