We are currently hiring for a Assistant Warden for our client in Colwyn Bay. This role is due to start in March until the end of May to cover for long term sickness. The purpose of this role is to assist in the management and maintenance of nature reserves and walking trails managed by Open Spaces, and in their promotion to the public.

Job Description: -

  • Assist with programmes of work for the conservation management of semi-natural nature reserves including Local Nature Reserves.
  • Undertake of site safety audits for managed nature reserves.
  • Assist with guided walks and other events for the public and educational groups.
  • Deputise for the Countryside/Country Park/Access Wardens as required.
  • Assist in development of promoted walking trails.
  • Be able to work five days out of seven on a rota basis, to occasionally include work outside of normal working hours.

Candidate: -

  • Educational experience in a relevant environmental discipline.
  • Ability to work under own iniatitive.
  • Ability to work outdoors in order to carry out practical tasks in all weathers under physically demanding conditions, in compliance with Lone Working arrangements and other Health and Safety requirements.
  • Able to travel at all times throughout the County Borough area and periodically further afield.
  • Full UK Driving license and able to drive a 3.5t van

Shift Time: -

  • Any five days out of seven on a rota - 09:00am - 17:30pm
  • 37 hrs a week.
